Honor a Fallen Veteran at Andersonville National Cemetery with a Wreath

Place a 20” wreath anytime in December or sponsor a wreath through Wreaths Across America by November 27th

ANDERSONVILLE, Georgia – Andersonville National Historic Site invites you to honor the memory and sacrifices made by our military this holiday season by placing a wreath on a veteran’s grave at Andersonville National Cemetery. You can order a wreath from a local florist and have it delivered directly to the gravesite, bring one in person, or sponsor one through Wreaths Across America.

Wreaths can be no larger than 20 inches, and can be delivered to or placed on graves beginning on December 1st. The last day to sponsor a wreath through Wreaths Across America is November 27th.

To sponsor a wreath for Andersonville National Cemetery through Wreaths Across America, you can go directly to the Andersonville National Cemetery page at https://goo.gl/kj61Pu and select “Donate”. Or you can go to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org, select “Donate”, then select “Sponsor a wreath at my local cemetery”. Type “Andersonville National Cemetery” into the search box at the top of the page, hit enter, then select “View”. Once you are on the Andersonville National Cemetery page, click on “Donate”. You can choose to sponsor a wreath for a specific grave, in memory of a fallen hero, in honor of a living veteran, or for any gravesite.

Sponsored wreaths will be placed on graves during our Wreaths Across America event on Saturday, December 16th. The public is invited to help place sponsored wreaths as part of the event, which begins at noon in Andersonville National Cemetery.

To find the location of a specific grave, please visit http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov or stop at the park’s National Prisoner of War Museum to search our lobby database.

Wreaths Across America is a national program that encourages individuals, community groups, and families to sponsor wreaths for placement in national cemeteries throughout the United States. Wreaths can be sponsored for placement on specific graves, or left un-designated to place on one of thousands of un-visited graves.
