National Park Service to Keep Andersonville National Cemetery Open
Park continues Andersonville National Cemetery operations

Andersonville, GA – Andersonville National Historic Site announced today that the National Park Service will continue to provide services to veterans and their family members by keeping Andersonville National Cemetery open for funeral services and providing daily access to the cemetery for families visiting the graves of their loved ones. The National Cemetery will continue to be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The remainder of Andersonville National Historic Site, including the National Prisoner of War Museum and the Camp Sumter Prison Site, remains closed at this time. Visitors should visit the park website at nps.gov/ande while planning their visit to get the latest information on accessibility and available services.

National Park Service officials have determined that by using Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act funds to immediately fund park maintenance and cemetery staff, the park can continue to provide cemetery operations for visitors while ensuring public health and safety.
