Andersonville National Historic Site will be kicking off National Park Week with Junior Ranger Day on April 16, 2022. This program is designed to help children and families connect and engage in the park as well as learn about national parks around the country. As a Junior Ranger, you can help protect natural and historic areas in our country! There is no charge for these programs and there is no need to register. A parent or guardian is asked to accompany each participating Junior Ranger. Each child who completes our program will earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate when they are sworn in as Junior Rangers. Junior Rangers can also complete the Junior Ranger Day Photo Scavenger Hunt! Complete fun activities by taking pictures around the park and tagging the park's Instagram and Facebook accounts!
Exploring the park and completing our Junior Ranger program allows children and their families the opportunity to better understand the sacrifices of the many brave men and women that have fought so hard for our freedom and the importance of preserving our nation’s history.
This year's National Park Week theme is "sPark Connections".
