This summer, American Memorial Park has been selected to participate in the Teacher Ranger Teacher (TRT) program. The purpose of the program is to provide teachers an opportunity to learn about National Park Service (NPS) educational resources and themes while earning continuing education credits through a partnership between the NPS and the University of Colorado, Denver.

Participating teachers will spend 240 hours working with park staff developing an education program as well as completing three graduate credit hours of coursework in Experiential Learning online. Upon completion of the program, teachers will receive a $3,000 stipend from the university. The program will begin on June 15, 2020.

Teachers instructing K-12th grade students are encouraged to apply. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, all work for this summer’s program will be completed remotely and the selected teacher must have access to a computer and internet. The deadline for applications is May 22, 2020. To request an application, or to learn more about the program please visit the park’s website: https://www.nps.gov/amme/learn/education/index.htm or contact Ranger Brooke Nevitt at brooke_nevitt@nps.gov and include Teacher Ranger Teacher in the email subject line.
