Alternate Parking and Towpath Access Points

C&O Canal NHP Headquarters (142 W Potomac St, Williamsport, MD)

• Public parking lot available, no public restroom.
• Towpath access via the Bollman Bridge on Salisbury Street.
• This is also an access point for cyclists that need access to amenities in the town of Williamsport.

Cushwa Basin (205 W Potomac St, Williamsport, MD)

• Public parking lot available, public restroom available.
• Towpath access via steep staircase on Railroad Lift Bridge. Not recommended for bicycles and strollers. Not ADA accessible.
• Towpath access via gravel rail trail. Take trail 1/2 mile downstream to cross bridge at Lock 44.

Lockhouse 44 (at the end of Main St, Williamsport, MD)

• Public parking lot available, public restroom available.
• Towpath access for bikes and pedestrians.
• Horses can access towpath via grassy trail on side of canal.
