On July 4, 2015 at about 6:15 pm, Zion dispatch received a report of a woman with a lower leg injury in the Narrows. The woman was reportedly unable to bear weight on the injured leg, and she and two other members of the party were waiting for help between campsites 11 and 12 in The Narrows. This location is about 6 miles from the trailhead at the Temple of Sinawava, and about 5 of those miles are in running water.

A medic and an EMT were sent in to locate and spend the night with the patient while a float/carryout team was organized for the next morning. The Medic and EMT reached the patient at about 11:30 pm.

On July 5, 2015 at about 8:00 am, the float/carryout team left the trailhead at the Temple of Sinawava. They reached the patient at about 11:30 am and made it back to park headquarters by about 4:00 pm. The patient refused ambulance transport and was given a ride to her campsite. The patients injury occurred because she got her foot stuck between two rocks and fell over.
