Yosemite Falls, a combination of Upper Yosemite Fall, Middle Cascades, and Lower Yosemite Fall, has a total height of 2,425 feet. In May, you may see Pacific dogwood in bloom just below the waterfall. A streaming version of this view is also available.
This view of Yosemite Valley from just east of Yosemite Village gives a sense of conditions of the floor of Yosemite Valley.
We recently started a restoration project in the Ahwahnee Meadow. From July 11 to September 6, 2018, our Resources Management and Science staff will be working on wetland restoration at Ahwahnee Meadow in Yosemite Valley following the Merced Wild & Scenic River Management Plan. They are using heavy equipment to remove about 3,000 cubic yards of imported fill and contour the site for uninterrupted water flow to ultimately improve hydrology, native plant communities, and wildlife habitat. This will be followed by native plant re-vegetation in the autumn. They are using an excavator, dumptrucks, water tender, and loader in the meadow during this project.
