• FE–Federal Endangered: A species that is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its national range

• FT–Federal Threatened: A species that is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its national range

• FPE–Federal Proposed Endangered: A species for which there is sufficient information on its biological status and threats to propose it as endangered under the Endangered Species Act

• FPT–Federal Proposed Threatened: A species for which there is sufficient information on its biological status and threats to propose it as threatened under the Endangered Species Act

• FC–Federal Candidate: A species for which there is sufficient information on its biological status and threats to propose it as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act but for which development of a proposed listing regulation is precluded by other higher priority listing activities

• CE–California Endangered: A species that is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range in the state

• CT–California Threatened: A species that is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its state range

• CCE–California Candidate Endangered: A species that will be considered for possible state endangered listing if sufficient evidence suggests that its status may meet the state listing criteria

• CCT–California Candidate Threatened: A species that will be considered for possible state threatened listing if sufficient evidence suggests that its status may meet the state listing criteria

• CCE/T-California Candidate Endangered or Threatened: A species that will be considered for possible state endangered or threatened listing if sufficient evidence suggests that its status may meet the state listing criteria

• CFP–California Fully Protected: A species (including federal and state listed) that is rare or faces possible extinction for which the State provides additional protection. The State of California regulates the possession and taking of these species

• CSC–California Species of Concern: Any species that may become vulnerable to extinction on a state level from declining population trends, limited range, and/or continuing threats; could become threatened or endangered

* Believed to be extirpated from Yosemite National Park

** Not all fishers are federally endangered, but the Southen Sierra Nevada population that inhabits Yosemite is.
