Please join us next Wednesday, October 31, in the Yosemite Valley Auditorium for the October Open House featuring World Heritage Fellow Nasser Al Zawideh. Nasser is the Protected Area Director for Wadi Rum, a World Heritage Site (like Yosemite!) located in southern Jordan. Wadi Rum is renowned for its archeological sites dating back over 12,000 years and is recognized for its natural and cultural attributes. Nasser is in Yosemite for four weeks to learn more about the management of World Heritage Sites, with a focus on stakeholders, budgeting and finance, and political considerations. Nasser will share information about Wadi Rum and discuss his background as the Protected Area Director. Doors open at 1 p.m. and Nasser's presentation will start at 2 p.m. Learn more about Wadi Rum by visiting http://www.visitjordan.com/default.aspx?tabid=66. As always, entrance fees are waived for those attending the Open House. We hope to see you there! |
