The Taft Toe prescribed fire in the Yosemite Valley continues to burn through logs, stump and other vegetation. Periodic smoke will continue to be visible from locations within Yosemite Valley.
Other park-wide fires that potentially will have visible smoke are the Middle, Cathedral and White Cascade. These are remote fires, which began by lightning in late July or early August.
The roadside thinning project, near the south entrance continues with CAL FIRE. The vegetation piles will be burned with favorable weather.
