Wildlife and Other Sightings: Coyote

Coyote
Canis latrans

I've noticed more coyotes in recent weeks in the forest areas near Hodgdon Meadow Campground. This has mainly been during early morning hours. I've also noticed coyote scat near the Hodgdon Meadow housing area. I've seen mostly individual coyotes, but also one pair, which might have been either an adult male and adult female or one adult coyote and a grown young coyote. Both parents are involved in training the pups to hunt and care for themselves. Typical packs consist of six closely related adults, yearlings and young.
