The crunch of frost on the morning grass and the sound of bugling elk in the crisp evening air are all signs of fall, which also means it is time for the Yellowstone Fall Photo Festival.

This event, now in its thirteenth year, allows photographers to share some of their favorite photos taken in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with other photographers and the public.

The festival will be held at the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. The National Park Service and the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center sponsor the photographic event.

Framed prints are not hung on the wall as part of this photo display, but instead, photographers provide a thumb drive or compact disc with digital images in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation or in a JPEG format readable by Microsoft Photo Editor. To add to each digital display, which is limited to twenty-five images or five minutes, photographers will narrate their presentations.

While there are no prizes at the festival, photographers are sure to be awarded with the accolades of all participating and attending the photo presentations.

Interested photographers should contact Rich Jehle at 307-344-2840 or 307-344-2754 or by email at e-mail us for more information. Participants must register by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23.
