Distance Learning

Students raise their hands in a classroom.

If you can't bring your your K-12 students to Yellowstone for an in-person field trip, your class can still interact with a knowledgeable ranger through a live distance learning program. Yellowstone rangers are experts at teaching geology topics such as volcanism, hydrothermal systems, erosion, and earthquakes. Ecological topics include habitats, fire, adaptations, predator/prey relationships, or a specific species. Cultural programs encompass the history of indigenous peoples in Yellowstone, park service history, or careers. Even try a Mystery program to help students learn map skills and geography. If these topics don't cover your needs, suggest a topic and we'll do our best to provide a program on that subject.

To schedule a Yellowstone distance learning program, contact us with information about your group and a proposed date and time (converted to MOUNTAIN Time).

For on-demand educational videos visit the Distance Learning playlist on Yellowstone's YouTube channel. There you will find videos with Yellowstone rangers explaining a variety of interesting topics.
