The Copper Center Area is the location of the the Copper Center Visitor Center and park headquarters. Click on the map for a larger image.
Copper Center Area
This area is located along the Richardson and Edgerton Highways in the Copper River Valley, just outside of the park's boundaries. It contains the Wrangell-St. Elias Visitor Center in Copper Center, views of the Wrangell Mountains, and numerous local attractions. To enter the park from Copper Center, it requires a one hour (one-way) drive to Chitina to continue on the McCarthy Road into the park.
