Colorado-based historian and Theodore Roosevelt reprisor Kurt Skinner takes audiences of all ages back to a time when Theodore Roosevelt embodied all the promise of the new American century. A retired military officer-turned high school history teacher, Skinnert is a life-long student of history.
In his performances throughout the country as Theodore Roosevelt, he aims to honor and faithfully represent this man that he so admires. His goal is to engage, entertain, and enlighten audiences, and remind us, in Roosevelt’s own words, what has always been great about America.
Although he never visited Wind Cave National Park, President Roosevelt signed legislation creating the park on January 9, 1903.
The Friends group supports activities like this to better enable Wind Cave National Park to attain its mission of protecting and preserving these natural treasures for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of this and future generations.
For more information, visit the park’s website at www.nps.gov/wica, or contact the park office at 605-745-4600
