HOT SPRINGS, SD – Teddy Roosevelt impersonator Gib Young will bring the country’s 26th president to life at a performance at Wind Cave National Park on July 5. This free program begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Elk Mountain Campground amphitheater.

Mr. Young has portrayed President Roosevelt for over 25 years, including performances at the White House, the Smithsonian’s American History Museum, and more recently at Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

Mr. Young’s talk will include stories about President Roosevelt’s time in the west and his thoughts on national parks and conservation. Following his presentation will be a question-and-answer session along with photo opportunities with the President.

Although he never visited Wind Cave National Park, President Roosevelt signed legislation creating the park on January 9, 1903.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of Wind Cave National Park, non-profit organization whose mission is to support and promote Wind Cave National Park as a natural and cultural treasure.

For more information, visit the park’s website at www.nps.gov/wica or contact the park office at 605-745-4600.
