Contact: James Doyle, 303-969-2321 The National Park Service has selected White Sands Trading, LLC, to provide retail and limited food and beverage services under a new ten-year concession contract in White Sands National Monument. The existing concession contract will expire on December 31, 2014, and the new concession contract will take effect January 1, 2015. White Sands Trading, LLC, is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has operated the gift shop since 2005.
The competitive process for the concessions contract was initiated earlier this year with the release of a prospectus. All offers had to be submitted to the National Park Service by August 13, 2014. An evaluation panel of National Park Service technical experts outside White Sands National Monument performed a comprehensive analysis of the proposals and selected the best responsive proposal based on factors identified in the prospectus.
