National Public Lands Day Volunteer Service Project

Weir Farm National Historical Park is hosting a trail restoration event in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Volunteers will assist National Park Service staff in trail maintenance and invasive plant removal, including restoring habitat and repairing park trails. Join your local national park in an effort to improve park trails for neighbors, hikers, school groups, dog walkers, and visitors. Tools, gloves, and water will be provided. Proper attire for the activity includes sturdy closed toe shoes, long pants, long sleeves, and hats. Sunscreen, insect repellent, and a bottle for water are recommended. This volunteer opportunity is appropriate for ages 10 and up, with parent or guardian supervision required for participants less than 18 years of age. Prior to the event, volunteer agreement forms must be signed by each volunteer, or their legal guardian if less than 18 years of age. Weir Farm Artist Collective Exhibit Reception at Wilton Library

Second Saturday Stone Wall Tour
10:00 to 10:45 am on the second Saturday of the month through October, including October 10
Stone Wall Tours are offered once a month in-season on the second Saturday. Join a park ranger on a ramble through the fields of Weir Farm National Historical Park to examine the different types of stone walls on the property and learn about their rich history. The stone walls not only provide an opportunity to explore New England's geologic and cultural past, but they have also served as a source of inspiration to the artists that have lived and visited here for over 140 years. The tour will meet at the Park Sign out front of the Visitor Center - no registration required.
Art and Agriculture Tour

This guided tour explores the agricultural history of Weir Farm, including the tenant farmers, historic barns, landscape and the artwork inspired by them. The tour will meet at the Park Sign out front of the Visitor Center - no registration required!
Fall Hike Weekend at Weir Farm NHP

Guided Hikes from 9:30 am to 11:00 am
Celebrate autumn in the Northeast on this guided hike that blends science, art, and seasonal beauty. Learn how to identify local tree species, explore why and how leaves change color each fall, and discover the autumnal art that has been created at Weir Farm. After the hike, use provided art materials to make a fall leaf print or craft a seasonal landscape of your own. The tour will meet at the Park Sign out front of the Visitor Center at 9:30 am - no registration required!

Take Part in Art - Informal Instruction in Watercolor and Landscape Painting with Bobbi Mullen

Weir Farm Artists Collective - Opportunity for Local Artists to Gather and Build Community!

Calling all artists! The Weir Farm Artist Collective is a collaboration of independent artists following the tradition of creativity within the Weir Farm landscape. On the first Thursday of the month, May through October, the Collective will be gathering in the Burlingham Barn with a focused discussion topic. The third Thursday of the month will be a ‘paint out’-style gathering, where artists can come to the park and make art together.
