INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. – Due to recent rainfall and improved humidity over much of northern Minnesota, Voyageurs National Park is lifting the ban on campfires in the park, effective October 25, 2024.
This decision is made in coordination with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, which has lifted Class III fire restrictions for northern Minnesota counties, including Koochiching and St. Louis counties.
Visitors to Voyageurs National Park may once again enjoy recreational fires (campfires) in designated metal fire rings. Charcoal-fueled fires in metal fire rings and grills are also permitted.
Thank you to all visitors for cooperating during the recent high fire danger period. We encourage continued caution while enjoying campfires at the park. For the latest information on restrictions and other important park announcements, please visit our website.
