Voyageurs National Park Hosts a Community Dog Walk for National Park Week

International Falls, MN: A community dog walk will take place on Saturday, April 27 as part of the national BARK Ranger Day to help celebrate National Park Week. BARK stands for: B-bag your dog’s waste; A-always wear a leash; R-respect wildlife; K-know where you can go. The event will take place at 10:00 am on the Rainy Lake Recreation Trail near the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. Park Ranger, Lisa Maass, will provide an introduction on how visitors and their canine companions can visit national parks safely and responsibly. Staff from the Rainy River Veterinary Clinic will also be on-site to provide information about pet safety and dog bite prevention.

This event requires all canine participants to be on a leash and be compliant with vaccinations. Owners are asked to assess their dog’s health, personality, and whether or not the dog will be a safety concern for other dogs and visitors at the event.

This event is sponsored by Voyageurs National Park Association, the official non-profit partner of Voyageurs National Park.
