INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. — Voyageurs National Park is pleased to announce the winter schedule for its visitor centers, equipment rentals, and special events.
Rainy Lake Visitor Center:
- Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting Jan. 10, 2025, through March 30.
- Hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Special holiday hours: Open Saturday, Dec. 14, and Saturday, Dec. 21, for holiday shopping at the park gift store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center:
- Open Saturdays and Sundays starting Jan. 11, 2025, through March 30.
- Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Winter Equipment Rentals:
- Rental equipment pickup is only available during visitor center operating hours.
- Rates: $10 per pair for adults and $5 per pair for youth (16 and under).
- Beginning Jan. 1, cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals can be made online through the Voyageurs National Park Winter Equipment Rentals webpage.

Upcoming Events:
The park’s rental equipment is free to use at these special events!
- *UPDATE* Candlelight Snowshoe Hike:
Saturday, Jan. 18, at 5 p.m.Friday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. as part of Ice Box Days starting at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center - Skiing with the Polar Polers: Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. at Black Bay Trailhead
Regardless of visitor center hours, access to the park is free and remains open year-round. Park staff invite visitors to explore the breathtaking beauty of Voyageurs National Park in winter. Venture outdoors to experience the snowy splendor of the northern landscape.
