News Release Date: March 7, 2011 National Park Service News Release For Immediate Release – March 7, 2011 Tavasci Marsh Bird and Ecology Walk On Thursday, March 24, 2011, Park Ranger John Lewis will guide a special ecology and birding walk at Tavasci Marsh in Tuzigoot National Monument. The monument is located at 25 Tuzigoot Road in Clarkdale, Arizona. The four-hour walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. in front of the Tuzigoot National Monument Visitor Center. The terrain is mostly level, but with a brief, significant incline at the beginning and end of the walk. Participants should bring water, a hat, sturdy hiking boots, and binoculars if they have them. While the walk will not involve any wading, hikers may encounter mud if the weather has been wet. Sunscreen and bug spray are also appropriate. There is currently no entry fee at Tuzigoot National Monument, and the program is free. For more information, please call the Tuzigoot Visitor Center at (928) 634-5564. --NPS-- |
