The weekday closures are expected to last through February 7. The park is scheduled to return to daily operations starting Saturday, February 8. Since that date, Tavasci Marsh has been closed to the public for safety reasons. While the cause of the fire is still being investigated by Law Enforcement and due to human safety risks of hazardous trees along the trails, the marsh closure remains in effect until all hazardous trees can be removed and erosion control can be completed. To date, Tuzigoot National Monument has completed environmental and cultural compliance to execute hazard tree work with some of the tree removal tentatively scheduled for mid-January 2024.
