Celebrate the night sky with us! On August 31st, 2019, The National Park Service and The Astronomers of Verde Valley would like to invite the public to Tuzigoot National Monument to explore the night skies. The star party will begin at 7:00pm with a presentation about black holes with Ranger Laura. Telescopes will be open for public viewing from 7:30-9:30 pm. Night time activities are FREE!
For a safe and fun evening, we advise that visitors wear closed-toe shoes and bring flashlights with a red filter. Also, if you would like to sit with us for a while and enjoy the night sky, camp chairs are recommended. This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled due to cloudy conditions.
Our staff will make every effort to ensure that children and adults of all abilities are fully included in all of our recreation programs, facilities, and parks. For questions about accessible amenities or to let us know how we may best meet your needs in any of our programs, please call Laura Varon-Burkhart, Lead Interpreter at (928) 649-6195 x229.
More than 20,000 National Park Service employees care for America's 419 national parks and work with communities across the nation to help preserve local history and create close-to-home recreational opportunities.
