Help Disperse Seedballs at Tuzigoot

Clarkdale, AZ —Tuzigoot National Monument will be hosting an event on May 25th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tuzigoot visitor center to disperse seedballs in order help revegetate the park. The event is open for volunteers to participate and get involved. Biological Science Technician Meredith Talbert states:

"It will be fun to see the familiar faces of people who participated in making the seedballs being able to put them to good use. We hope to get some new participants as well!”

With the help of the local community, the monuments have collected an abundance of seedballs and now it is time to see the fruit of their labor. Volunteers will hike a two-mile round trip and place seedballs around trees and shrubs as well as do some light weed pulling to give seedballs the best chance of competing in the environment. It is highly recommended all participants bring snacks, plenty of water, sun protection, and gloves. Entrance fees will be waived for Tuzigoot's Tavasci Marsh trail system to those that participate. For any questions or further information, please contact Meredith Talbert at the email above.
