Beginning in September of 2019 and continuing through May of 2020, Montezuma Well and Tuzigoot National Monument will host free bird walks

Start times are as follows: 
September 2019: 8am-10am
October 2019-March 2020: 9am-11am
April 2020-May 2020: 8am-10am

On the first and third Saturday of each month, walks will take place at Montezuma Well.  Each walk will begin at the Montezuma Well Picnic area.  Bird walks at Montezuma Well cover roughly 1.5 miles and are rated easy-moderate.
 
On the second and fourth Saturday of each month, walks will take place at Tuzigoot National Monument. Each walk will begin at the Tuzigoot Visitor Center parking lot and continue through Tavasci Marsh. Bird walks at Tavasci Marsh cover roughly 2 miles and are rated moderate-strenuous.
 
Participants are encouraged to bring water, binoculars, a hat, and to wear comfortable shoes for walking. The trails can be steep, rocky and uneven.
 
These events are sponsored by Western National Parks Association, a nonprofit education partner of the National Park Service. Visitors’ tax-free purchases in WNPA bookstores help WNPA provide direct support to 71 NPS units across the American West. More information can be found at www.wnpa.org.
