Theodore Roosevelt National Park Annual Photo Contest Winner to be Announced

Medora, ND –The National Park Service and the Theodore Roosevelt Nature and History Association are pleased to announce that the winning photo has been selected for the annual "Picture Yourself in Theodore Roosevelt National Park" photo contest. The winner will be announced during Medora's 19th Annual Old Fashioned Cowboy Christmas festivities on Saturday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. MST in the park's South Unit Visitor Center.

The Theodore Roosevelt Nature and History Association received 85 photo entries this year which were judged on representation of the park, composition, creativity, and technical quality. The top 12 photos were selected for another round of judging;these will be on display in the South Unit Visitor Center throughout the weekend. The winning photo will be featured on the 2015 Theodore Roosevelt National Park Annual Park Pass and the top 12 will be included in the 2015 Theodore Roosevelt National Park calendar, which will be available for sale after the awards ceremony. Finalists will receive a signed certificate of appreciation from the park superintendent;the top four will be awarded prizes donated by the Theodore Roosevelt Nature and History Association. Two family movies, "First Snow in the Woods" and "Stranger in the Woods," will be shown in the visitor center auditorium starting at 3:00 p.m. MST. Popcorn will be provided by the Theodore Roosevelt Nature and History Association.
