Road construction has begun on East River Road in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Construction will proceed throughout the summer on the 3.5 mile stretch of road from the park entrance at Pacific Avenue in Medora to the prairie dog town on Johnson Plateau.
Construction work will take place Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. MDT; no work will be done on weekends or holidays. Pilot cars and traffic signals will be in use and delays are anticipated to be no longer than 30 minutes. Visitors can expect rough road conditions within the construction zone.
