Friends of Theodore Roosevelt National Park to Sponsor Elkhorn Ranch Outing

The Friends of Theodore Roosevelt National Park invite the public for a special trip to discover the Elkhorn Ranch on Saturday, July 14.A bus will transport participants from the park's South Unit Visitor Center at 9:00 a.m. and will return at approximately 1:00 p.m. MDT.

 "The Elkhorn Ranch was Theodore Roosevelt's home in the badlands," said Superintendent Valerie Naylor. "It is an important part of North Dakota history and is a very significant national site."

 Featured speakers for the event include Superintendent Valerie Naylor and Theodore Roosevelt scholar Clay Jenkinson.Park rangers will also be available to answer questions about the site and Roosevelt's time in North Dakota.

Participants should bring water, a snack, insect repellant, and sunscreen. Reservations are requested, as seating on the bus is limited.Please RSVP to lilliancrook@gmail.com by July 10 if you would like to attend.
