Find Theodore Roosevelt National Park during National Park Week

Free Admission and Special Events April 16 - 24

MEDORA, ND: The staff of Theodore Roosevelt National Park invites everyone to celebrate the National Park Service's 100th anniversary and "Find Your Park" during National Park Week, April 16 through 24.Entrance fees will be waived at all national parks throughout the week.

National Junior Ranger Day marks the beginning of the celebration on Saturday, April 16. Activities will begin at the park's South Unit Visitor Center at 10:30 a.m. MDT. Kids will be able to try on official Park Ranger gear, pose for a photograph with Theodore Roosevelt, play games and learn skills, and search for hidden TReasure. Prizes will be provided by the Theodore Roosevelt Nature and History Association. All participants will be sworn in and will receive official Junior Ranger badges.

Tuesday, April 19 is Park Cleanup Day. Spend some time outdoors with park rangers and other volunteers for spring cleaning. Rangers will meet at 10:00 a.m. at Boicourt Overlook, 3:30 p.m. at Skyline Vista, and 6:00 p.m. at Wind Canyon.All times are MDT.

On April 23, join a Ranger for a #FindYourParkInstameet hike on the Little Mo Nature Trail in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Meet at the trailhead just inside the entrance to the Juniper Campground at 1:00 a.m. CDT.

Activities for all ages are scheduled throughout the week in the South Unit Visitor Center. Join a ranger to create a park arrowhead on Wednesday or design your own park stamp on Thursday. Friday is Earth Day: if you feel like dancing, join willing rangers to do the "bioblitz dance;" a demonstration video will be available all day.

National Park Week is a great opportunity to explore the countless ways there are to #FindYourPark.
