Spending the day at the park? Bring a lunch and enjoy the scenery of the Picnic Area.

- Pets are allowed, they must be on a leash at all times.
- Picnic area is open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday, Admission is free.
Picnic Pavilion
- The Picnic Pavilion is first-come, first-serve. If you have a group of 25 or more, a special permit may be required.
Things to Know
- “Holding” or unofficially reserving tables in the picnic area for other individuals is prohibited.
- Free standing shade structures are permitted in the picnic area, provided that they are no larger than 10'x10'. Stakes or pegs used as anchors must be less than 9" in length and 1" in diameter.
- Fires are only permitted in the park-supplied grills or personal grills brought by visitors. Grills must be monitored at all times. Fires must be fully extinguished and the ashes left in place.
- Hammocks are prohibited.
- Never feed wild animals, including birds and squirrels. Store all food when not in use. Animals that become dependent on human food may become aggressive toward people.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
Fishing
Fishing is allowed from the small beach at the edge of the Picnic Area. Information regarding required icenses and regulations for fishing may be found here.

Picnic Area
To get to the picnic area, approach the Washington Birthplace Monument in the round about at the entrance. Follow the round about to take the far left. Follow the road until you see a fork in the road, take the right and follow the road all they until you see the white Log House on the right. Take the next right into the picnic area parking lot. You are now in the Picnic Area.

- One parking space is designated.
- There is one accessible Family restroom, which has a door lever to open (closed in winter).
- The parking lot is paved. The entrance surface to the Picnic Area is fairly level and grassy.
- Water: The water fountain is not accessible.
