Learning Wellness at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield
Exercise your mind with learning challenges that focus on the stories and experiences of the Federal and Southern soldiers and the Ray family. You can also learn about the conservation efforts to protect the natural environment. Whether you stop at the visitor center and explore the museum, seek and find in nature, or become a Junior Ranger — each activity will grow your knowledge and challenge your perspective.
Once you complete the challenges, claim your badge here. You can also get a rubber stamp to add to your Passport Book at the Visitor Center lobby.
Report for Duty
Become a Junior Ranger at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield! Pick up a Junior Ranger Booklet at the Visitor’s Center. Complete the activities to learn about the battle and ecosystem protection. Then take the pledge to become an honorary steward of the battlefield. Learn about impacts on Civil War history and how to protect its many ecosystems for birds, plants, animals, and fish.
You can also access the Junior Ranger booklet online.
This park has an entrance fee.

The following America the Beautiful passes are issued at the visitor center:
- Access Lifetime Pass (With proof of disability)
- Lifetime Military Pass (Veteran's and Gold Star Families)
- Annual Military Pass (Active Duty)
- 4th Grade Pass (Students in fourth grade or homeschool 10 years of age, online activity and voucher required. Visit https://www.everykidoutdoors.gov
Visitor Center Building above the main parking lot entrance. 12-miles Southwest of Springfield Missouri.
From I-44: exit at Exit 70 (Missouri Highway MM). Continue south to U.S. Highway 60. Proceed through the intersection. Continue 1/2 mile to Missouri Highway ZZ. Turn right on ZZ. Continue south to Farm Road 182 (Elm Street). Turn left; the entrance to the battlefield is on the right. From U.S. Highway 65 (south of Springfield): turn left (west) on Missouri Highway 14 at Ozark. Continue on Highway 14 to Missouri Highway ZZ. Follow ZZ north to Farm Road 182. Turn right; the entrance is on the right.

The Visitor Center has three accessible parking spaces, and there is a paved sidewalk to its entrance. There is an accessible restroom, and it is all on one level. A wheelchair is available for use at the Visitor Center.

The brochure is not available online, or in audio description format currently. The brochure is available in braille at the visitor center information desk.
