National Volunteer Month

Volunteers join National Park Service employees in parks and programs across the nation to support the preservation of our nation’s most precious natural, historical, recreational, and cultural treasures.

Each April, the National Park Service celebrates National Volunteer Month by recognizing the contributions of our volunteers. This national celebration shines a light on the hundreds and thousands of people who dedicate their time, talent, and voice to making a difference in our national parks and beyond.

Whether they are transcribing records online, building a welcoming environment at the visitor center, or contributing to the maintenance of our trails, doing good in parks comes in many forms and we recognize and celebrate them all. Let’s give a big round of applause to our volunteers for their stewardship of our public lands.
