This program is for early childhood students in Pre-K to second grade.
History has proven it takes team work and many people to run a Railroad. Students will learn some of the important jobs on the Railroad. This is a hands on program that promotes literacy and team building skills and learn how Railroader's communicate to each other.
Children will role play and experience what is it really like to work as an Engineer, Conductor, Porter, Fireman, and Master Mechanic. What it was like to be a child and work on the railroad. The program includes experiencing the inside of an engine and ringing it's bell, the inside a caboose, business car and Railway Post Office Car. The basics of how a locomotive operates is taught. Railroad safety is emphasized. All this done through storytelling and music.
This program is approximately 45 minutes long.
