Join the Friends of Salinas Pueblo Missions, the Manzano Mountain Art Council and the National Park Service for the second annual Luminaria de Abó on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. Experience Abó with an orange glow that illuminates the red sandstone into a tower of scarlet. More than 1,000 hand placed and hand lit luminarias will set the landscape aglow, tracing the outline of the seventeenth century church.

Photographers, bring your gear, as this event creates one of the most memorable photo opportunities you can get. The local parish will conduct a Mass at 4:00 pm to be followed by a reenactment of a Posada. A tour of the mission church ruins will follow directly after with music and light refreshments to follow to wrap up the evening at 7:00 pm. Make sure to dress warm, wear comfortable shoes, and to bring your curiosity to this awe-inspiring event.
