Hupa Basketmaker to Lead Workshops at Satwiwa Culture Center

(Newbury Park, CA) On Sunday, February 6, Hupa artisan and storyteller Kat High will serve as the guest host at Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center in Newbury Park. As the guest host, Ms. High will conduct two free workshops on how to make round reed baskets and will tell traditional Native American stories. The first two-hour workshop begins at 10:00 a.m. and the second workshop begins at 1:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. The program and parking are free. Directions to Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center: From the Ventura Freeway (101), exit at Wendy Drive and head south. Turn right on Lynn Road. Turn left on Via Goleta. Continue all the way to a parking lot where the road ends. Walk 0.3 miles to the Culture Center.
