Gamache Photographic Exhibit to Open with Artist Reception
(Thousand Oaks, CA) The National Park Service is featuring the work of landscape photographer Tom Gamache in a free art show and opening reception at the Visitor Center at 401 Hillcrest Dr. in Thousand Oaks, CA. The opening reception with the artist will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2011. More than thirty mammoth sized prints will be on display in the Visitor Center at through March 15, 2011.
Tom Gamache is the photographer and co-author, along with western writer Matthew Jaffe, of the highly acclaimed book Range on the Edge – The Santa Monica Mountains. The photographer will be available to sign books and answer questions during the opening reception.
Additionally, a free photo walk with the artist is being offered for Saturday, January 29, 2011. Details for the walk will be available at the reception.
This showing of exhibition prints is the most comprehensive sampling of the artist’s work ever displayed in a single location. The exhibit will feature enlargements of many of the most popular images from the coffee-table style book complemented with photographic images from other national parks and forests across the West.

DIRECTIONS to 401 Hillcrest Dr. – Exit Ventura Fwy (101) to Lynn Rd., North on Lynn Rd. Turn east (right) on Hillcrest Dr. Left on McCloud Ave. Turn into first driveway on the right. Follow road to the end. Turn right and park. Walk towards the buildings. The Visitor Center is down the stairs.
