Park Rangers at Redwood National and State Parks are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspected car burglars. In September a vehicle was broken into while parked on the Newton B. Drury Parkway in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Several items were taken from the vehicle. Not long afterwards, a credit card stolen during the burglary was used at both Walmart and Home Depot stores in Crescent City.

Security cameras captured two suspects at Walmart using the stolen credit card. One suspect is a female wearing grey pants, a black coat, and a black ball cap with large sunglasses on them. The other suspect is a male wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a red ball cap, and red shoes.

Rangers have not been able to identify either suspect and are now looking for the public’s help and ask anyone with information on either suspect or their whereabouts to call Ranger Korsgren at (707) 465-7345.

Visitation is steadily increasing as visitors come from across the country and the world come to experience the wonders of Redwood National and State Parks and our north coast communities. Unfortunately, crime is also on the rise. Park Rangers from Redwood National and State Parks work tirelessly to increase and maintain park safety in the park. You can help! Anyone with information regarding any criminal activity within the parks is urged to contact the park's anonymous tip line at: 707-465-7353.
