Redwood National & State Parks (RNSP) invite you to join park volunteers and retired professional photographers Peg and Rex Lavoie for a special "photowalk" on the Trillium Falls Trail on Wednesday, June 27th at 3 pm. Designed for amateur and professional photographers alike, Rex and Peg will provide helpful tips for taking better images in the old-growth redwood forest. Their photo walks are designed to help photographers improve their images with suggestions for better composition and improved understanding of camera functions and settings.
The walk will begin at 3 pm at the Trillium Falls trailhead, located at the Elk Meadow Day Use Area on Davison Road, about 5 miles north of Orick, CA. It is scheduled to last about two hours and cover about one mile round-trip. The trail is considered easy involving about 300 feet of elevation gain. Photographers are encouraged to bring a tripod and any other equipment that they can comfortably carry on the trail.
To make this experience enjoyable and worthwhile for all that attend, this special activity is limited to ten participants. A smaller group size will enable Rex and Peg to devote proper attention to each photographer while reducing crowding on the trail. Additional photo walks will be scheduled throughout the summer. For reservations, directions and/or other information, please call the Kuchel Visitor Center between 9 am and 5 pm, every day, at 707-465-7765.
Rex Lavoie is a Master of Photography, Master of Electronic Imaging and Photographic Craftsman, awarded by the Professional Photographers of America.
