As a small thank you for the commitment, dedication, and sacrifice provided to the nation and our communities, all active duty U.S. service members and their dependents are eligible to receive a free pass to all 417 National Park Service sites and other federal land management areas.

On Saturday, August 19th, Park Rangers from Redwood National and State Parks will be at U.S. Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay Open House in Samoa from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to distribute the Annual Pass for U.S. Military to active duty U.S. military members and their families. Other active duty service members in the community are welcome to stop by and apply for their passes as well.

The Annual Pass for U.S. Military covers entrance fees to National Park Service and Fish and Wildlife Service sites, and standard amenity fees at Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation sites. It admits the pass owner and any accompanying passengers in a private non-commercial vehicle, or the pass owner and up to additional 3 adults at sites that charge per person.

This free pass is available in Redwood National Park at the Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center in Orick, or the Hiouchi Information Center on Highway 199 in Hiouchi. Applicants must present their military ID (CAC Card or DoD Form 1173) at the visitor center in order to receive the pass.

Rangers will also have the free Access Pass for U.S. citizens with permanent disabilities and the free Every Kid in a Park Pass for all incoming 4th grade students available at the open house.
Other federal recreation passes including the annual America the Beautiful Pass and the Senior Pass are available for purchase onlineat: www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.
