Saturday’s activities are free to attend from 12:00-4:00 pm and will include a kid’s bike rodeo, bike decorating activities, ranger guided bicycle tours of the Mill Creek restoration project, bicycle maintenance and repair workshops, pedal powered interactive exhibits, and live music!

On Sunday, the events begin at 11:00 am with mountain bike fun rides and races including a flat sprint race, three different uphill challenge rides, and a nontimed Creekside Crawl.

Each cyclist who signs up to ride will have a redwood tree planted in their honor in the Mill Creek Watershed Restoration Project. Registration for Sunday’s events is $25 for adults, $15 for students/youth and includes event t-shirt. Please register in advance on the Redwood Rides website to participate in any of the races. www.redwoodrides.com/cyclefest.

The goal of Redwood Cycle Fest is to promote healthy living through cycling, raise public awareness, appreciation, and support of an underutilized system of back country roads and trails on public lands. With an expanded system of mountain bike trails, Redwood National and State Parks hopes to attract a new audience to the park experience as a cycling destination.

The Redwood Cycle Fest was inspired by the Find Your Park campaign, commemorating the National Park Service Centennial. September 24th is Bike Your Park Day, encouraging cyclists nationwide to hit the trails and explore their parks on two wheels.

September 24th is also National Public Lands Day, celebrating the importance of public lands for recreation and community health. For more information about Redwood Cycle Fest
