Coastal Drive in Redwood National and State Parks Re-Opens to One-Way Traffic

The Coastal Drive in Redwood National and State Parks has re-opened to to vehicle traffic. The drive had been closed for two weeks while road crews conducted necessary maintenance. Erosion had reduced the route to the point it was no longer safe for two-way traffic. The Coastal Drive is now one-way traffic only between the High Bluffs Overlook and the mouth of the Klamath River.

The Coastal Drive offers stunning views of the rugged California coastline from the High Bluffs Overlook, access to the walk-in Flint Ridge Campground, and the four-mile Flint Ridge section of the Coastal Trail.

Currently all park roads are open for the summer season. For information on park roads, trails, campgrounds and other activities, call 707-465-7335, check out our web page: www.nps.gov/redw, or stop by any park visitor center.
