News Release Date: November 1, 2022

Beginning November 1, 2022, the concession operated Prince William Forest RV Campground in Prince William Forest Park off of Hwy 234 will close for infrastructure improvements. The improvements include the replacement of underground electrical, water, and wastewater utilities and the reconstruction of portions of the campsites and roadways within the campground.

The RV Campground is scheduled to reopen on June 1, 2023. All other campgrounds in Prince William Forest Park will remain open for camping barring seasonal closures.

Prince William Forest Park is an oasis of quiet and calm. In 1936, Chopawamsic Recreation Area opened its gates to house children's 'relief' camps during the Great Depression. Renamed Prince William Forest Park in 1948, its fragrant woods and trickling streams have welcomed generations of campers, hikers, bikers and nature lovers.

UPDATE 5/7/2024:

A couple loops of the RV Campground are now open, but several remain closed for repaving. Contact 703-221-2474 for more information.
