National Park Service does not charge entrance fees to persons under 16 years of age or holders of the America the Beautiful-The National Parks and Federal Recreational Annual, Senior, Access, Military, Volunteer, 4th grade, and Prince William Forest Park annual pass. These passes may be obtained at the park.

"We are committed to keeping the park affordable but we also want to provide visitors with the best possible experience," said Prince William Forest Park Superintendent Tanya Gossett. "The park reinvests revenue from entrance and camping fees directly into its visitor facilities and services - historic cabin camps, picnic pavilions, ranger programs, hiking trails, comfort stations - everything visitors enjoy returning for time and time again."

Most recently, Prince William Forest Park has used fee revenue to upgrade public restrooms, improve its Visitor Center, update camping areas with fire pits and grills, and improve roads and hiking trails. The proposed changes to the park's fee structure will help the park make infrastructure and amenity improvements at Turkey Run and Oakridge campgrounds, such as replacing aging water and sewer lines and adding shower facilities.

Prince William Forest Park is a strong economic engine for the surrounding area. In 2016, more than 350,000 park visitors contributed 19.8 million to the local economy and supported 42 jobs related to tourism.

Prince William Forest Park will host two town hall meeting, one of August 26th and one on September 13, 2017. Both meetings will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the park Visitor Center, 18170 Park Entrance Road, Triangle, VA 22172. Both meetings will include public comment sessions.

After collecting comments and feedback from the two town hall meetings and other written media, the park will determine how, or if, a fee increase would be implemented. Additional information about the park's proposed fee structure may be found at www.nps.gov/prwi and www.facebook.com/prwinps.
