As of Friday, June 1, 2012, the Coast Trail at Point Reyes National Seashore will be closed from the Point Reyes Hostel to Coast campground to all public access (foot, bike and stock) until further notice. The trail has become impassable due to water and mud and has become an unsafe condition for park visitors.

NPS staff will proceed to acquire all necessary permits for short-term repairs to the trail and also for a permanent fix.
