PAICINES, CA - The National Park Service (NPS) announces the selection of Pinnacles Recreation Company to operate the campground and store at Pinnacles National Park.
The concession contract was awarded through a competitive selection process. This commercial operation will provide a significant recreational opportunity for visitors to Pinnacles National Park, and is critical to providing a positive visitor experience. The Pinnacles campground is a 50 acre, 137 site campground with 81 tent sites, 37 RV sites, and 14 group sites. The contract includes the operation of a campground store. Store items for sale under the include convenience, souvenir, and grocery items.
“The staff and partners at Pinnacles National Park are excited to welcome Pinnacles Recreation Company to central California” said Acting Superintendent Lisa McInnis. “We look forward to continuing to meet the needs of our visitors through innovative, environmentally sensitive, and high quality commercial services.”
Pinnacles Recreation Company is a newly founded California company, and this is its first concession contract with the NPS. “We are honored to be selected to operate at Pinnacles National Park. We look forward to working closely with the NPS to implement some exciting new sustainability initiatives and to focus on improving the visitor experience at the Pinnacles campground and store” said Grant Cunningham, Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacles Recreation Company.
Royal Elk, LLC is the outgoing concessioner, and Pinnacles Recreation Company will assume responsibility for visitor services at Pinnacles National Park during the spring of 2019.
