Petrified Forest National Park has suspended permitting the scattering of human cremated remains (ashes) within the park. The park’s Special Use Permit (SUP) program is not issuing permits for ash scattering at Petrified Forest as the park goes through an interdisciplinary review and formal comment process with the 37 traditionally associated tribes.
