Benjamin Schedler is a photographer based in Northern California. His images represent what he is most passionate about: documenting the natural world and telling the stories about how we interact with it. Always seeking different perspectives, constantly looking for a composition, the camera helps him translate to others how he sees the world around him. A former Artist-In-Residence at Acadia National Park, Maine, the focus of his current work is bringing an artistic perspective to conservation photography. My passion for the outdoors is what motivates me as a photographer. I am humbled when I think about the world in which we live and the forces at work carving out the natural landscape. My photographs have a distinct graphic quality. I tend to emphasize the geometry in nature; strong lines, contrast, shape, and texture are all prominent features in my work. Thematically, I am drawn to the power and solitude found in the wilderness. I see it as my role as a nature photographer to go the extra mile and bring back compelling images that make the viewer appreciate the world around them. |
