Fourwing Saltbush (Atriplex canescens) is a large common shrub that sometimes forms colonies. They are dioecious, male and female flowers on separate shrubs. After pollination, the females for showy green bracts in large spikes that turn tan over the season. There are four bracts like wings per seed.
