Several rabbitbrush species live on the Colorado Plateau, belonging to either Ericameria or Chrysothamnus genera. They all tend to be big fluffy, yellow-flowered shrubs. E. nauseosa is the biggest and can form spectacular colonies, blooming in late summer and into autumn. It is a source of natural rubber.
